London, England Tourist Hotspots

Hey guys,

A couple of years ago I had the privilege of travelling to London, England for the very first time for my sweet sixteen birthday. It was the best trip of my entire life and it acted as the catalyst for my love affair with lovely London. Today I’m going to share some of my favourite places that I visited on my trip, just in case anyone is planning on visiting the best place on Earth anytime soon.

5. The British Museum IMG_7329
Great Russell St, London WC1B 3DG, United Kingdom

The British Museum is one of the largest museums in the world, including artifacts from all continents and periods in human history. Some of the highlights of my visit were viewing the Elgin Marbles from the Greek Parthenon and the Ancient Egyptian relics. If you’re a fan of history and culture, this museum is a must, just make sure to allot plenty of time for your visit because there’s a whole lot to see!

4. St. Paul’s Cathedral
St. Paul’s Churchyard, London EC4M 8AD, United Kingdom

A famous London site with one of the largest domes in the world, St. Paul’s Cathedral is a breathtaking sight. Many famous British events have taken place here, including the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill, Jubilee celebrations for Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II, and the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. And if you can make it to the very top, some of the most amazing views of London’s skyline are yours to take in.

3. Covent Garden

What was once a fruit and vegetable market is now a hub of adorable restaurants, coffee shops, and clothing stores. Covent Garden is a region in London filled with fun street performers and great shopping and dining. A great all day event if you want to experience the more low-key, yet incredibly charming side of London. Also filled with some great architecture for the photographer in us all!

One of the most iconic London tourist destinations, the London Eye was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Located on the Left Bank of the Thames River, one trip on this giant ferris wheel will give you an amazing view of all of London.

P10109311. Buckingham Palace
London SW1A 1AA, United Kingdom

God save the Queen! I would have to say that out of all London has to offer (which is quite a lot), visiting Buckingham Palace was the highlight of my trip. Watching the changing of the guards and seeing where the royals live and play completed my British adventure. An obvious requirement for any traveller in England looking for a true tourist escapade!

Hope you enjoyed and cheerio! Xoxo, Ana.
