Decorate!

Decorate your house, porch, bedroom, dorm room, or college apartment with all the glory of fall!

For outside, hang a fall wreath, make a cute fall display of pumpkins, bales of decorative hay, pretty fall grasses and flowers.

For indoors, add fall flower arrangements, fall scented candles, fill clear jars with faux leaves, chestnuts or fall coloured candy, and add fall coloured throw pillows and blankets to beds, sofas and chairs.

Indulge in Fall Flavours!

Pumpkin, caramel, and apple just to name a few. Fall has so many fantastic flavours to be enjoyed! Take advantage of the bounty of fall and drink up those pumpkin spice frapps, lattes and warm apple ciders, make some candy apples and caramel corn, bake an apple or pumpkin pie or try making a pot of milled wine! (Easier than you think and so worth it!)

Shop for New Fall Makeup!

It’s time to put away the pretty pinks and summer nudes, fall makeup means going darker and bolder! Beautiful coppers, bronzes and browns are perfect for fall. Darker lips are also a must this season. Don’t forget your nails! Deep reds, charcoal greys, dark burgundies and taupes are all great fall nail colours!

Have a Fall Photo Shoot!

Take advantage of the natural beauty fall has to offer! Pumpkin fields, apple orchards, and parks full of pretty leaves are all perfect settings for some stellar picture-taking opportunities!

Have Some Fun!

Gather your friends and venture through a corn maze, go on a hayride, pick apples, go for a walk or hike and observe nature’s fall beauty, have some friends over and make a pot of milled wine and enjoy by the fireplace, go to a fall fair, have an awesome Halloween party, visit a pumpkin patch (for the pics and the pumpkins) and pick your own perfect pumpkin! Have fun!

I’ll definitely be doing all of the above, how about you?

Xoxo, Ana

  • Hang a fun tapestry to add life to  your space.

  • Display your favourite pics in a fun shape like a heart or hang picture garlands or clip pics to a photo line.

Add Accents!

  • Add some cute throw pillows to your bed, couch, or fav chair.

  • Brighten your space with fresh flowers, go for a bunch that’s all one flower type like daisies, roses or peonies, cut stems to the same length and hold together using a clear elastic for a sleek designer look (mason jars make great vases)
  • Incorporate some fun printed accent rugs next to your bed, under coffee tables and in hallways.
  • Place groupings of small potted plants on your dresser or side tables, small cactuses and succulents in small terra cotta or ceramic pots work well.

  • Use pretty scented candles on side tables for decoration and fragrance.

Organize!

  • Use different sized jars on your desk to hold pencils, paperclips, etc.

  • Use ceramic jewellery dishes for your small jewellery and wall hanging jewellery holders for the larger stuff.

  • Use decorative and over the door hook racks in the bathroom, bedrooms and entrances to neatly and discreetly hang towels, coats and purses

  • Use clear drawers, tumblers and mason jars for  organizing makeup and easily finding what you need

  • Store papers, cards and other small stuff in chic photo boxes displayed on a shelf (double duty=decor+storage)

  • in the bathroom store as much as possible in drawers and leave out essentials like hand soap and towel, store extra towels (rolled up) and extra toilet paper rolls in a nice wicker or wire basket on a shelf or the floor.

Hope these tips help give your space a mini makeover!
